The first & only reason why Bad Vugum was conceived in the first place.
Their ripping first two EPs were ample proof of the band's superior ability to go
beyond the kind of faceless hardcore mayhem Finland had become quite
notorious for. After dominating the Finnish indie charts they decided to put major
labels' facilities to efficient use - without losing any of their original intensity, of
course. They now boast a total of ten landmark albums (including a compilation
of the early Bad Vugum stuff), as they returned home for four more records.
Out on Bad Vugum:

Sinappia ja ketsuppia 7" EP
(Bad-1)
"Combines HC ferocity with an aggressive post-punk rhythmic
attack, all the while maintaining their clarity and pop sense.. Hot!"
-MRR (USA). "It just fucking rips." -Forced Exposure (USA).
Tyhjä on täysi 7" EP
(Bad-2)
"Radiopuhelimet is a truly great band!.. Sorta like Terveet
Kädet meets Big Black." -Jello Biafra.
2 1/2 LP
(Bad-18)
By popular demand: the first two EPs compiled, plus
the best five tracks from the "Rokkiräjähdys" -LP (:
"Excellent, excellent! One of my favourite records this year."
-John Peel '88. "Like a sawed off shotgun in your face.. Ahh, don't
ya love it? AmRep fans will die for this." -Flipside (USA).

Maasäteilyä LP / CD
(Bad-51)
The return of Bad Vugum's prodigal sons. Beautiful, beautiful...
"Maybe at times a bit less furious, but still burning and raging...
How one can imagine noise rock without paying attention to these guys
is hard to believe." - A.F.M. (BEL).
Avaruus LP / CD
(Bad-65)
Celebrating 10 years of filler-less
masterpieces, the kings of noise rock keep churning out the hits and,
if possible, with even more diversity; this time one of the crowning moments
is a 10-minute quasi-acid rock epic.
Hiljaista! LP / CD
(Bad-83)
The elder
statesmen of "noise-rock" (for lack of a more varied term) keep on growing
with each landmark album. To wit: Who else could possibly afford to introduce
violins and horns and other "mature" moods to established trademarks like
razor-sharp double-guitar fire and imaginative rhythmic attacks, and still
make it sound so natural and spot-on... ?
Oulu on kaupungin nimi CD
(Bad-90)
The album nr. 9 1/2 is
as good as ever. The band has maintained it's unique sound and high
quality level in songwriting. This time there's no vinyl: sorry for you vinyl freaks, but it
beacme financially impossible to go on with vinyl. -But it's music that matters -isn't it? (by AP)
